House 97

Situated on a recreational lake, this modern-rustic home was designed for a couple in want of a respite from city life. Inspired by the simplicity of Nordic cabins, it was built as a place to gather with family and friends. The house is fully electric, relying on solar energy and battery backup for much of its energy needs. It achieves minimal carbon emission through the use of geothermal cooling & heating and a wood burning fireplace. To eliminate the need for ongoing maintenance of the exterior, metal roofing and siding clad the home’s surfaces.
